2016 Week 2: North Allegheny @ Central Catholic

Week 2 featured North Allegheny at Central Catholic from Gesling Stadium at Carnegie Mellon University. Last year, Central Catholic went 15-1 on its way to a state championship. The Vikings’ lone loss? A 24-17 thriller to North Allegheny and former CC head coach Art Walker, Jr. These schools have dominated the WPIAL of late, combining to win five of the last six AAAA titles. Both schools feature Notre Dame commits in Central Catholic linebacker David Adams and defensive lineman Kurt Hinish, and NA offensive tackle Josh Lugg. Vikings offensive lineman C.J. Thorpe is headed to Penn State. Central Catholic head coach Terry Totten was the state’s AAAA Coach of the Year in 2015.
