PITTSBURGH -- Over a century ago an orphanage was started on Pittsburgh's Northside, named the United Presbyterians Orphans Home, serving families in the region who could no longer care for their children.

On the backs of volunteers the organization later evolved into the Mars Home For Youth in the early 1990s, and then expanded again into what it is today, MHY Family Services, which serves at-risk youth and their families from seven different counties in western Pennsylvania.
