PITTSBURGH -- The Salvation Army, in partnership with the Toyota Lexus Minority Owners Dealership Association is sponsoring food distribution events at 24 Toyota/Lexus dealerships across the country on Friday, May 22.
Locally, North Hills Toyota on McKnight Road will host this event and has provided 200 food boxes valued at $50 each to help local families in need.
The drive-up food distribution will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at North Hills Toyota, located at 7401 McKnight Road.
“We are honored to partner with North Hills Toyota here in Pittsburgh to help those who are hurting right now,“ said Lt. Nikita Poloso of the North Boroughs Salvation Army.
“We also want to remind all Pittsburgh-area residents that The Salvation Army is here for them every day throughout the year.”
The food boxes will be provided on a first come, first served basis, to those in need as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, according to the release.
Each box contains chicken, fresh produce, milk, cheese and a variety of nonperishable food items.
All social distancing precautions will be taken, and recipients are asked not to leave their cars.
