Actor Jerry Van Dyke dead at 86

Jerry Van Dyke has died at the age of 86.

According to TMZ Jerry's wife, Shirley, confirmed he died Friday afternoon at their Arkansas ranch.

Jerry's health deteriorated following a car accident he had over two years ago.

He made his acting debut on The Dick Van Dyke show, followed by appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show and The Judy Garland Show.

He is best known for his Emmy nominated performance as Luther Van Dam on the show Coach.

Van Dyke was inducted into the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame in 1998.

Jerry Van Dyke is survived by his wife, older brother Dick Van Dyke, and numerous children and grandchildren.
